Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park is one of Africa's most famous and spectacular wildlife conservation areas, located in northern Tanzania. Covering approximately 14,763 square kilometres, it is renowned for its vast savannah plains, rich biodiversity, and the world's largest remaining mammal migration. The park is home to the iconic Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros—as well as hundreds of other mammal, reptile, and bird species.
About This Destination
The name Serengeti originates from the Maasai word "Siringet," meaning "endless plains," a fitting description of the park's expansive grasslands. The central area was first designated as a Game Reserve in 1929.
